After weeks of negotiations at the White House and on Capitol Hill, it appears the Democrats are hardly any closer to passing President Biden's "Build Back Better" agenda (which, remember, has been split into two bills, a "bipartisan" infrastructure bill and another to finance a massive expansion of the social safety net).
Democrats have had to scrap chunks of the bill to cut its price tag from $3.5 trillion to $2 trillion or less. Lawmakers aim to slash costs to appease centrist Sens. Joe Minchin, D-W.V., and Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz. As Democrats try to pass the plan with a simple majority in the evenly split Senate, one defection can derail it.

Oct 22, 2021 - 05:56:10 PDT
Advocates for centralized control live the Davos mindset. We can get behind justice and sustainability. But not with these guys in control we can’t. They’re not a reliable voice of a free people. They are, instead, the new scourge of the earth.
While Congressional Democrats spar over the ultimate size of President Biden's "Build Back Better" economic plan, Bloomberg astutely points out that Americans have no clue what they're signing up for with their tax dollars. In fact, according to a CBS News poll published Oct. 10, just 10% of Americans say they know the specifics of the bill, while only 1/3 think it would benefit them directly.
